The ACA Level 2: Essentials of Kayak Touring Trip Leader training and assessment is designed to expose candidates to the skill-set required to lead paddlers in protected waterways. While this is not a teaching award, a L2 trip leader should also be able to provide basic tips to paddlers, as appropriate, to help them through the environment.
This three-day training and assessment program is a great opportunity for aspiring guides and club paddlers to develop the leadership and technical skills needed to safely lead groups.
This program is focused on training future leaders to skills in the ACA L2 Essentials of Kayak Touring trip leader training criteria. Participants meeting the criteria in the assessment document may be awarded the ACA L2 Essentials of Kayak Touring Trip Leader award. To get the most from the program, this program is intended for paddlers possessing ACA L2 personal paddling skills and knowledge at a minimum.
