Experience the beauty of Alaska’s Prince William Sound on this 7 day expedition. Along with peaks rising 4,000 feet from the sound, you will watch glaciers calve in the distance, catch a glimpse of the area’s diverse wildlife, camp on remote beaches and Forest Service huts, and more.
Our group will meet in Anchorage and transfer to Whittier. After checking into our hotel, we will pick up our rental boats, check and sort gear, and load to boats. We will then celebrate the beginning of the trip with a group dinner.
The next morning we depart Whittier for the Alaskan back country. Destinations will vary based on conditions and may include Blackstone Bay, Port Wells, Harrison Lagoon, Pigot Cove, College Fjord, Bay Arm, Harriman Fjord, and Surprise Inlet. Accommodations in the back country will include a combination of Forest Service huts and beach camping.
After 7 days on the water, we will return to Whittier on July 2. After returning our boats and packing gear, we will celebrate the trip’s end and relive the experience with a final group dinner.
Optional add-on: Experience mountain biking at Aleyeska Resort in Girdwood on July 3. $175
Trip includes logistics planning, transportation between Anchorage and Whittier, lodging on the first and last night (double occupancy), kayak and paddle rental, Forest Service hut reservations and fees, and all group meals.
